Who runs Toolz Hunt
Toolz Hunt is run by the team named on our About page. For anything about your data, email hello@toolzhunt.com.
Accounts
Login is handled by Zoho Catalyst Authentication. You can sign up with an email and password, or with Google. We never see your password; Catalyst checks it and tells us who you are. If you sign in with Google, we get your name, email and profile picture from Google.
What we store
- Your account (users): your name, email, profile picture, when you joined and when you were last active.
- Saved tools (saves): which tools you saved.
- Upvotes (upvotes): which tools you upvoted and when, so each person counts once.
- Claims (claims): when you claim a tool, your name, role, work email and how we checked it.
- Submissions (submissions): when you list a tool, your name, role and work email, plus the tool details you give us.
- Messages (messages): when you message a team, your name, email and message, which we pass to that team.
With submissions, messages and tool suggestions we also keep a one-way hash of your IP address. We use it only to limit spam; it can't be turned back into your IP address.
Where it's stored and for how long
- Everything is stored on Zoho Catalyst, in Zoho's India data centre.
- We back up the data every week and keep each backup for 8 weeks. After you delete your data, it can stay in older backups until they expire, at most 8 weeks later.
Cookies
We only use cookies to keep you logged in. We don't use advertising cookies, analytics or tracking, and we don't show ads.
What we don't do
- We never show makers' email addresses on the site.
- We don't sell personal data.
Deleting your data
You can delete your account and data yourself on the Delete my data page. It explains what gets deleted and what we keep, anonymised, for our records. You can also email hello@toolzhunt.com.
